The Perfect Pumpkin Pie

Just in time for the holidays, I’ve decided my first recipe will be for the perfect, custard-y, yummiest Pumpkin Pie.

I actually decided to make this today after finding out that my soon-to-be in-laws think that Pumpkin Pie is gross (I know), when all they do to make it is empty a can of Pumpkin Pureé into an empty Pie crust and cook it. They don’t season it or make a custard or anything.

I was appalled.

So here we are *spreads hands*. We’re going to learn how to make my favorite Pumpkin Pie.

What You’ll Need:

1 can of Pumpkin Pureé (I like Eagle’s and Libby’s, personally)

1/2 of a can of Sweetened Condensed Milk

2 Large Eggs

1 Tablespoon of Cinnamon

1/2 of a Tablespoon of Ginger

1 Teaspoon of Nutmeg

1/2 of a Tablespoon of Clove

1 Roll of Pre-Made Pie Dough (I’ll teach you to make a Pie Dough from scratch another time!)

How You Make It:

Pre-Heat your oven to 425 Fahrenheit (218.33 Celsius).

Line your Pie tin with the Pie Dough (after greasing your pan, of course!), I like to crimp the edges (it isn’t necessary), which you do by putting your thumb against the crust and pinching the crust around your thumb. I like to do it at about 1/4 inch intervals.

Begin your custard by pouring the Pumpkin Pureé into a mixing bowl, then adding the Eggs and Condensed Milk. Mix thoroughly, until you have a smooth mixture with no lumps.

Then add all of your seasonings and mix thoroughly again.

Taste your mixture by placing the tip of your finger (I like to use my pinky) into the batter and tasting it. If you don’t think the flavour is quite right, add more seasoning until it’s right for you.

When your mixture is done, it should look something like this:

Bake your Pie for 15 minutes, then turn your oven down to 350 Fahrenheit (176.67 Celsius) and bake for another 30 minutes.

Check the Pie by placing a butter knife into the center, and pull it out. If the butter knife comes out clean, it is done. If not, bake for another 15 minutes and then check again.

Here’s the done product!!

(Please ignore my funky crust omg I don’t know what happened to it)

Enjoy ❤ ❤

If you enjoy my work, I have a Ko-fi !! I’d appreciate any tiny bit of support you could offer ❤ ❤
